Laura March, director of Schola · Spanish 2 Enjoy interviewed Teresa, a german student.
Good afternoon.
What's your name?
My name's Teresa.
How old are you?
I'm 15 and I'm from Germany.
Why did you choose to come to Spain to study Spanish?
Well, I love elegant languages and Spanish seems very elegant
To me and Spanish people are so friendly.
How do you get on with the teachers at school?
Well, O.K. They're..(thinking) No. They're really nice. All of them. I get on well with them all.
How about your classmates?
Ooh. Yes. I've made lots of friends. They're all great, very friendly. They love telling me things about their country, culture, it's really good, brilliant
Do you know other people, other students like you, who have had this experience?
Yes, I know plenty of people from my class in Germany. I'm the 4th to have done this.
Have you found it difficult to learn Spanish?
No, I love learning languages and it hasn't been very difficult.
What is it you like most and would you recommend to get to know in Spain?
Everything. I love all the country, all the culture and the people. I love the scenery. I just love everything about the place.
How about the food? Do you like it?
Yes, a lot
Yes really easy. I really like paella, potato omelette, 'cocido' (typical Spanish dishes). I like everything.
And the climate?
I love the climate. It's hot, a lot more than in Germany and it's sunny.
What about your family here in Spain? What can you tell us about them?
Well my family are very nice. I'm really happy and at home with them.
Do you get on well with them?
Yes very well
From the first day?
Yes.
Have you been or done anything with your family that wasn't in the programme?
Ooh. I've done lots of activities. We've visited a lot of people. We've been to Zaragoza, Madrid and to the centre. We've visited friends of the family and we've been to many places.
So you've really felt like one of the family? As if you were in your own home?
Yes.
Do you feel good about it?
Yes.
Has The experience been what you imagined it would be like?
Yes, I thought I would have new experiences and that things would be a little different. It's really great here.
Is there anything that has surprised you that you didn't expect?
That the Spanish have dinner so late. I thought that as people worked so early in the morning that they would have dinner earlier, but they don't. But I like eating late.
Since you arrived in Spain do you think that the back up from your family and the company has been apropriate?
Of course, very efficient. I would recomend it to everybody. It's a unique experience living in a family from another culture. Everyon should do it.
Well thank you very much
You're welcome.
Thank you.
Hope to see you again.
